Ukraine can achieve 10-15% gas cost cut in 2014, says energy minister
KIEV, Dec. 3 - Ukraine hopes that negotiations with Russia on a reduction in the price of natural gas will be successfully completed by the end of the year, but even if they fail, the country will manage to achieve a reduction in the cost of natural gas next year by 10-15%, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytsky said. |
Latest Gazprom debt payment delayed as protests paralyze government
KIEV, Dec. 3 - Ukraine will delay payment of its natural gas supply debt to Russian gas company Gazprom because of ongoing popular protests that have blocked the work of the government, an official said Tuesday.
Yevhen Bakulin, the head of the national energy company Naftogaz Ukrayiny, said the original plan was to pay the $765 million debt by December 7. |
