Government delays Odessa LNG terminal design tender for three months

KIEV, Dec. 2 - Ukraine has delayed for up to three months a tender to select a company that would design a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal near Odessa, according to the energy and fuel ministry.

Ukraine to strengthen nuclear security, Yanukovych tells UN leader

ASTANA, Nov. 30 - Ukraine is preparing a number of important decisions to strengthen nuclear security, President Viktor Yanukovych said.

The head of state said at a meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in Astana on Tuesday that these decisions were to be adopted in April 2011 at an international conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.


Odessa-Brody could be extended to Gdansk, says Polish official

World Bank VP: End some subsidies to help Ukraine’s poorest citizens

KIEV, Dec. 2 – The freezing of some non-specific subsidies would allow Ukraine to save, redistribute and allocate around 0.7% of GDP to help its poorest citizens, Shigeo Katsu, vice president of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia, said in an article published in the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia newspaper.
