KIEV, Sept. 8 – The Ukrainian presidential secretariat has predicted Ukraine will face difficulties winning the disbursal of the next tranche of the International Monetary Fund's loan to Ukraine.

KIEV, Sept. 9 - The Ukrainian government on Tuesday pledged to take steps to support the country’s steel and mining sector, such as increasing the domestic supply of iron ore and coking coal and reducing transportation costs.


Ukraine suspends scheduled troop reduction for 1st time since 1991

KIEV, Sept. 9 – Ukraine suspended its reduction of army troops for the first time since 1991 in reaction to Russia’s incursion into Georgia last month.

Defense Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov said the decision was recently supported by the National Security and Defense Council, the country’s top security body, and by President Viktor Yushchenko.
