KIEV, Sept. 11 – Ukraine has proposed to the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan that instead of setting quotas for duty-free supplies of Ukrainian pipes every six months, they should be agreed for three years in advance, Economic Development and Trade Ministry Petro Poroshenko said.


Ukraine to build five plants to convert coal stocks into natural gas

KIEV, Sept. 11 - Ukraine will build five plants that will convert domestically extracted coal into gas to help the country cut dependence on Russian natural gas imports, President Viktor Yanukovych said Tuesday.

At a meeting with government officials and corporate executives in Dnipropetrovsk, Yanukovych said the overall cost of the project is $3.5 billion, and it is due to start later this year.

KIEV, Sept. 11 - A Ukrainian court on Tuesday adjourned the tax evasion and embezzlement trial of former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko until Oct. 15, citing her inability to attend the trial due to poor health.
