KIEV, Sept. 11 – Ukraine has proposed to the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan that instead of setting quotas for duty-free supplies of Ukrainian pipes every six months, they should be agreed for three years in advance, Economic Development and Trade Ministry Petro Poroshenko said.
"We set the issue on the consideration of a longer period for agreement – until 2015 to approve the quota until the end of the term of protective measures," he said at a meeting with the head of the Eurasian Economic Commission Board Chairman Viktor Khristenko in Kiev.
Poroshenko said that he believes that achieving the agreement is a realistic goal, and expects that this will be done as quickly as the quotas for H2 are agreed.
