Agrarian Fund to start 1.3 million-ton forward grain purchases Nov. 1

KIEV, Oct. 23 – The Agrarian Fund on November 1 starts state forward purchases of bread wheat and rye and fodder barley from the 2013 harvest.


Ukraine falls three places in World Bank Doing Business ranking

KIEV, Oct. 21 – Ukraine has dropped three places in the Doing Business rating, an annual report by the World Bank on regulations that enhance business activity or those that constrain it, to 152nd position.

"Ukraine is ranked 152 out of 183 economies reviewed in Doing Business 2012, down from 149th place the previous year," reads a posting on the bank's Web site.


Wind Power company starts construction of Zaporizhia power plant

KIEV, Oct. 21 – Donetsk-based Wind Power company, which is part of the DTEK group, has started the construction of the Botyevska wind power plant in Zaporizhia region.


Activ Solar completes construction of Okhotnykove solar power plant

KIEV, Oct. 21 - Activ Solar has completed construction of its Okhotnykove solar power plant in Crimea, with total capacity of 80 MW after completion of a new 20-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant, the company said Friday.

KIEV, Oct. 21 – Ukraine by late 2011 is to submit a national report on the off-schedule assessment of the safety of the reactors of the country's nuclear power plants to the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG), Chairperson of the State Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine Olena Mykolaichuk said.


Kherson shipyard starts construction of carrier tanker for SVL

KIEV, Oct. 21 – Kherson shipyard has started construction of a main product carrier tanker under the RST27 project for SVL companies (Malta).

The ceremonial laying of the ship’s keel took place on October 21.

According to Kherson Shipyard's Director General Vasyl Fedir, the ship was designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (Odessa).

Details emerge of production-sharing agreement made with Vanco

KIEV, Oct. 22 – Ukraine and Vanco International Limited (U.S.) have agreed that the shares of the parties under the production sharing agreement during the development of the Prykerchenska oil and gas field will be 30 to 70, and 50 to 50 when extraction commences, Ukraine's Environment Ministry told Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.
