Zelenskiy calls on banks to lower mortgage rates to 10% from 14%
KYIV, July 9 – President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that commercial and state-owned banks in Ukraine should give mortgages at a maximum of 10% per annum.
"I'm sure that you can't spend 25% on mortgage. Any young family will decide that, listen, I can't buy here, then I will go to Poland, what's the difference where to rent [housing], but there I will get a normal wage. If we have a wage even EUR200 less than in Poland, but we will have conditions when a person can buy an apartment without problems at a maximum of 10%. That was the goal," he said at a meeting with business representatives of Volyn region.
