KIEV, July 12 - Ukraine’s state nuclear industry regulator on Tuesday has issued a permit for using Westinghouse-made nuclear fuel in reactors No. 1 and No. 4 of Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, the country’s largest.
The reactors for decades relied on Russian-made nuclear fuel, but the government has been seeking to reduce dependence on Russia and to expand the share of Westinghouse on the market.
