KIEV, April 14 – China has expressed hope that the implementation of the Air Express national project in Ukraine will be accelerated and assured that the country will fulfill all liabilities it has taken, Ukraine's State Agency for Investment and National Project Management reported.

We're not planning to raise fuel excise, PM tells Facebook friends

KIEV, April 12 – The Ukrainian government is not planning to raise the excise tax on fuel, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"I have already had an occasion to point to the actual size of the excise tax on fuel, and I want to say that the government doesn't have such intentions, as the media reported, concerning an increase in the excise tax on fuel," he wrote on his page on Facebook, while communicating with users on Friday.


Ukraine reports 4.8% electricity output decrease for first quarter

KIEV, April 15 - Ukraine's integrated power grids decreased electricity output by 4.8% or 2.658 billion kilowatt-hours year-over-year in January-March 2013, to 52.722 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry reported.


Ukrainians have over $100 billion in mattresses, says ex-NBU chief

KIEV, April 15 – Over $100 billion of currency is in hands of Ukrainians, First Deputy Prime Minister and former governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov said.

"We have a deep domestic market, the public has over $100 billion in hand. The money is exposed to risks – from being eaten by mice to crimes," he said in an interview with Korrespondent.

Ukraine auto manufacturers push for car import dumping investigation

KIEV, April 15 – Ukrainian automobile manufacturers plan to initiate an antidumping investigation into imports of cars to Ukraine as an additional protective mechanism for the domestic automobile industry, Denys Dombrovsky, the head of the law department at UkrAVTO Corporation, told reporters.


EuroGas Polska enters into agreement for Western Ukraine methane

KIEV, April 13 – EuroGas Polska sp.z o.o., a subsidiary of U.S.-based EuroGas, Inc. (EuroGas), has entered into a confidentiality agreement with Total E&P Activites Petrolieres (Total), a wholly owned subsidiary of Total S.A., in connection with the evaluation and possible acquisition by Total of certain rights held by EuroGas Polska's wholly owned West Ukrainian subsidiary in an onshore region in Western Ukraine.


Exports of Ukrainian electricity reported up 34% in Q1 2010

KIEV, April 14 – Ukraine in Q1 increased electricity exports by 34% or by 304.8 million kWh compared to the same period in 2009, to 1.202 billion kWh, the Fuel and Energy Ministry announced.
