KIEV, May 14 – The National Bank of Ukraine on Thursday asked the Swiss National Bank for expertise in upgrading the country’s banking sector and stabilizing the hryvnia, the local currency.

“We agreed on a technical cooperation agreement between NBU and the Swiss central bank,” President Viktor Yushchenko said at an economic forum in Switzerland on Thursday. NBU Governor Volodymyr Stelmakh joined Yushchenko at the forum.
