KIEV, Oct. 16 – Former Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, the leader of the largest opposition group in Parliament, said Thursday that the early election “will take place,” adding his group will back the bill disbursing financing for the vote.

Yanukovych broke several days of silence as Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, a major opponent of the vote, has been waging a fierce legal battle with President Viktor Yushchenko, seeking to stop the election.
