KIEV, Oct. 1 – Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said Wednesday that declining prices of crude oil on world markets may help Ukraine clinch affordable 2009 prices of natural gas in upcoming talks with Russia.

Tymoshenko is due to leave for Moscow on Thursday to try to persuade her Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to agree to sell gas to Ukraine at affordable price despite earlier threats of a major hike.
