KIEV, Oct. 19 - Naftogaz Ukrayiny initiated arbitration proceedings against Russia seeking to recover $2.6 billion in assets lost after the annexation of Crimea in March 2014, the company reported Wednesday.

The arbitration is initiated according to a clause in an earlier agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Russia, and comes two months after Russia has failed to show up for negotiations over the matter.
