MOSCOW, Dec. 26 - Ukraine has cut off power to Crimea for the second time in a week, the Kryminform news agency said on Friday.

"Ukraine fully discontinued power supply to the Republic of Crimea at about 1:50 p.m. (Moscow time) today, for the second time in a week. There is a power outage in every populated locality of the peninsula, including Armiansk which receives electric power via a dead-end high-voltage power transmission line," says a report posted on the agency website.

It said all communication lines were shut down on the peninsula.

"Crimean Fuel and Energy Minister Sergei Yegorov does not possess information about the reasons for the electric power cut-off," Kryminform said.
