KIEV, May 22 – The first disbursement of the European Union's grant assistance to Ukraine under State-Building Contract in the amount of EUR 250 million will arrive by late May, Andrew Rasbash, head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, said at a briefing in Kiev.

"The allocation of the funds could be considered as an advance payment to the Ukrainian government," he said.

Rasbash said that in this way the European Union was supporting the Ukrainian government in its desires to fight corruption and work on the improvement of the state administration. He said that the funds would be sent to the national budget.
