BRUSSELS, May 21 - The European Union might provide macro-financial aid and a medium-term loan totaling about 1.6 billion euros to Ukraine by the end of 2014 if Kiev complies with obligations concerning the implementation of reforms, European Commission Vice President Siim Kallas told reporters in Kiev.
He said the EU would fully meet its obligations concerning assistance to Ukraine in tackling the country's economic problems. In the short-term, the EU's efforts are focused on emergency financial aid in the amount of 1.6 billion euros, and in the long-term on loans at low interest rates, Kallas said.
