KIEV, Sept. 18 – The Economic Development and Trade Ministry has proposed the sale scrap ferrous metal export quotas, set in line with the balance of demand and consumption on the domestic market, at electronic auctions.
The relevant changes could be made to the law on scrap metal, the ministry said in comments on a draft law posted on its Web site.
According to the document, the sale of scrap metal lots for export at auctions will make the procedure for the distribution of export quotas transparent and support fair competition among market players, while also determining the controllability and predictability of the situation on the market.
