KIEV, Jan. 18 – Ukraine will insist on creating a trilateral joint venture, including companies from Russia and the European Union, to operate the country’s natural gas pipelines, Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko said Wednesday.

The comments come as reports emerged the Russians have been seeking to get control over the Ukrainian gas pipelines in a bilateral joint venture with Ukraine’s Naftogaz.
