KIEV, Dec. 7 - Ukraine paid for less than half of its November Russian natural gas supplies, delaying the rest of the payment after Gazprom extended the deadline by three weeks, Naftogaz Ukrayiny reported Wednesday.

Naftogaz paid about $441 million to Gazprom on Wednesday. Ukraine imported $972.2 million worth of natural gas in November.

Naftogaz made two transactions - one in U.S. dollars and one in Russian rubles - using the Russian currency for the first time in the payment.

“The company paid $210 million and 7.2 billion Russian rubles ($231 million) to Gazprom,” Naftogaz said in a statement.
