KIEV, Oct. 5 – The Ukrainian government expects the International Monetary Fund's mission to visit Kiev in late October to continue talks on the resumption of funding under the stand-by arrangement, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Social Policy Serhiy Tyhypko said.
"I would like to inform you that we expect the IMF [mission] to arrive in late October," he told reporters in Kiev on Wednesday.
While commenting on the issue of the increase in gas tariffs for households, which is one of the conditions for disbursement of the next tranche of the IMF loan, Tyhypko again said that the government hopes to reduce the price of Russian gas and thus avoid such an increase.
