KIEV, June 23 – Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will arrive in Ukraine on Saturday for meetings with Ukrainian leaders, a Russian diplomat reported Thursday.
The meetings, with President Viktor Yanukovych and Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, will take place at government resorts in Crimea, Vsevolod Loskutov, a senior Russian diplomat at the embassy in Kiev, said.
Putin met Azarov to discuss natural gas agreement in Moscow on June 7 and in Kiev on April 12, but both of these meetings had failed to produce a tangible result and lower gas prices for Ukraine.
