KIEV, April 7 – The government, apparently yielding to pressure from the International Monetary Fund, has agreed to narrow Ukraine’s 2010 budget deficit dramatically in a bid to win resumption of lending next month.

The government is now forecasting budget deficit at between 4.5% and 5% of the GDP, compared with 10% a week ago, after the IMF has refused to accept the wider deficit.
