BRUSSELS, March 1 - President Viktor Yanukovych on Monday assured European Union leaders of steady natural gas transit across his country’s territory due to expected improvement of relations with Russia.

“The European Union no less than Ukraine is interested that we renew partner relationship with Russia,” Yanukovych said after a meeting with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.
