Ukraine gets slapped down at NATO summit
NEW YORK, May 21 - The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, at a summit in Chicago, expressed concern about selective justice and politically motivated prosecutions in Ukraine, sending a strong message to President Viktor Yanukovych. |
Prime minister to meet with Russian counterpart at CIS Astana summit
KIEV, May 21 - Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko left for Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, on Thursday to join a meeting of the council of prime ministers of the Commonweals of Independent States, the government reported.
After the meeting of the Council on Friday, Tymoshenko is scheduled to hold a separate meeting with her Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to discuss cooperation in natural gas sector between the two countries, the government said. |
Tymoshenko hails economic ‘stabilization’
KIEV, May 21 – Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said Thursday the economy has been showing signs of “stabilization” after a major slump earlier this year, and predicted the recovery may start as soon as in four months. |
