Government approves amendments to Chernobyl shutdown program

KIEV, June 22 – The Ukrainian government on Wednesday approved amendments to the national program for shutting down Chernobyl nuclear power plant and transforming the Shelter facility into an environment friendly system with the action plan for 2017-2020. The government would propose to the Verkhovna Rada to endorse the relevant bill, Ukraine's Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry has reported.


Parliament asks EP for additional trade preferences on Ukrainian goods

KIEV, June 22 – Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada has urged the European Parliament to introduce additional trade preferences for Ukrainian goods.

An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that a total of 230 lawmakers finally backed resolution No. 6517.

KIEV, June 22 – Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has proposed to increase expenses and revenues of Ukraine's national budget in 2017 by UAH 26 billion or some 3.5%, including by UAH 25 billion for the general fund. The relevant bill has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday.

NBU cuts borrowing costs for third month

KIEV, June 23 - Ukrainian monetary-policy makers have cut borrowing costs for a third month, citing a slowdown in inflation and a rebound of the national currency, and promised more easing to come in order to boost lending.


Ukraine's GDP reported at UAH453.2 billion for first quarter

KIEV, June 21 – Ukraine's nominal gross domestic product in the first quarter of 2016 amounted to UAH 453.2 billion and the change in the deflator came to 20.5%, the State Statistics Service reported.
