NEW YORK, Sept. 23 – President Viktor Yushchenko intends to cancel all the steps which will be taken on the sales of a state stake in the Odessa Port-Side Plant, scheduled for Sept. 28-29.

"The steps, which will be taken on September 28-29 for the illegal privatization of the Odessa Port-Side Plant will be abolished," Yushchenko said in an interview with Ukrainian reporters in New York.

The president asked the investors not to take part "in this show."

"I am calling on the investors to withdraw their applications and make a step forward a just privatization, and give the possibility to formulate the conditions for the fair privatization," the president said.
