Kharkiv Tractor Plant resumes operation after two-month idle period
KHARKIV, Sept. 2 - Kharkiv Tractor Plant has resumed operations after an idle period lasting for some two months, the company told Interfax-Ukraine.
The plant said that it has orders for September, although they are small. At present, the plant expects to receive state aid for leasing purchases of tractors for farmers. |
Council of Europe ministers to discuss migration this week in Kiev
KIEV, Sept. 3 – The eighth Council of Europe conference of ministers for migration affairs entitled will take place in Kiev on Sept. 4-5.
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko are expected to address the opening session, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's media liaison office reported on Wednesday. |
Tymoshenko to begin consultations with parties to form new majority
KIEV, Sept. 3 – Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said Wednesday she will begin consultations with political groups in order to form a majority in Parliament following the collapse of her coalition with President Viktor Yushchenko’s group.
“Literally tomorrow I will begin consultations with all political groups in Parliament in order to create a system of consolidation,” Tymoshenko said in a televised statement.

President threatens to dismiss Parliament
 KIEV, Sept. 3 – President Viktor Yushchenko, reacting to a mounting political crisis, Wednesday pledged to dismiss Parliament and to call a snap election in Ukraine if lawmakers fail to create a new coalition within the next 40 days.
