Foreign capital now owns half of banking sector, says NBU official

Ukraine begins building first AP1000 unit at Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant
KYIV, Apr 15 – Energoatom and the U.S. company Westinghouse have begun a project to build KhNPP-5 and KhNPP-6 using AP1000 technology.
The launch ceremony of the project took place on April 11 at Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant site with the participation of U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Haluschenko (information is provided with a delay for security reasons).

Ukraine calls for threat-resistant system to improve global food security
KYIV, Apr 16 – In order to guarantee the food security of Ukraine and the world, it is necessary to create a threat-resistant supply system for agricultural products disrupted after February 24, 2022, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky said during a speech at a meeting of the NATO Food and Agricultural Planning Committee.

Investors may build 500-1000 MW of power generating capacity: UABIO
KYIV, April 16 – When the government creates conditions for the development of distributed generation, including the maneuverable generation critically scarce due to Russian shelling, businesses could potentially construct 500-1000 MW of such capacity by the end of the year, according to Heorhiy Heletukha, the Chairman of the Board of the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine (UABIO).

Vegetable prices in Ukraine stabilize after price shocks in 2022-2023
KYIV, April 16 – Vegetable prices in Ukraine have leveled off and will no longer be as high as they were in 2022-2023. Fluctuations within the range of 10-15% are acceptable, according to Taras Vysotsky, the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, during a national telethon broadcast.
