Antimonopoly Committee approves Metinvest acquisition of Illich-Steel
KIEV, Aug. 18 – Ukraine's Antimonopoly Committee has permitted Metinvest B.V. (the Netherlands), a holding company of Ukraine's largest metallurgical Metinvest holding, to acquire public joint-stock company Mariupol-based Illich steel mill and private joint-stock company Illich-Steel. |
Ukraine electricity output down 15.3% through the end of last month
KIEV, Aug. 17 - Ukraine reduced electricity output 15.3%, to 97.476 billion kilowatt-hours in January-July compared to the same period of 2008, the Fuel and Energy Ministry announed.
Ukraine's nuclear power plants (NPP) reduced electricity output 11.8% to 47.499 billion kWh in the seven months, thermal power plants (TPP) and combined heat and power plants (CHP) reduced output 21.4% to 38.401 billion kWh. |
Karpatnaftokhim installs 4 polymerization tanks at new PVC facility
KIEV, Aug. 19 – Karpatnaftokhim Ltd. (Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region) has installed four polymerization tanks at a new PVC production facility, which is under construction now.
The polymerization tanks, which are one of the key compounds of the new facility, were installed on August 14-17. |
AMC clears Magnezit Group holding company’s Donetsk region buy
KIEV, Aug. 18 - Russia's Magnezit refractory group could acquire the Pantaleimonivka Refractory Plant in Ukraine's Donetsk region.
Ukraine's Antimonopoly Committee told Interfax that it had cleared the Magnezit group's Luxembourg-registered holding company MAG Holdings S.A. to acquire more than 50% of the Ukrainian plant. |
Olympiysky stadium work proceeding on UEFA’s schedule, says DPM
KIEV, Aug. 18 – The Olympiysky National Sports Complex reconstruction work is continuing in accordance with a schedule agreed with UEFA experts and will be completed by the end of 2010, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Vasiunyk told journalists on Monday. |
