DTEK allocates UAH 1.5 billion for sustainable development projects

KIEV, Sept. 19 - DTEK said it has allocated UAH 1.533.3 billion in the first half of 2013 to sustainable development projects, including social partnerships with towns where the company operates, health and safety, environmental protection, and maintenance of social assets.


Electricity exports up 16.15 through Aug. 31, government reports

KIEV, Sept. 19 - Ukraine exported electricity worth $394.789 million in January-August, the State Customs Service has reported.

The service said that electricity worth $159.218 million was exported to Hungary, $124.831 million to Belarus, $77.207 million to Moldova, and $44.542 million to other countries (Poland, Slovakia and Romania).

Exports of electricity in monetary terms grew by 16.1% or $54.737 million year-over-year, while in kind it rose by 8.4%, to 6.685 billion kilowatt-hours.


Ukraine's gross foreign debt shrank slightly in 1st half, NBU reports

KIEV, Sept. 19 – Ukraine's gross foreign debt narrowed by 0.5%, or $700 million, to $134.4 billion, in H1, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.

The central bank said that the debt was down by 0.9 percentage notches in relation to GDP, from 76.6% to 75.7%.


We won’t import any more trains, infrastructure minister says

BERLIN, Sept. 18 - Ukraine will not import trains from other countries any more but intends to develop its own wagon building industry, Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov said.
