IMF experts urge government to liquidate 2 of 3 recapitalized banks
KIEV, Feb. 22 – At talks between Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund, the fund's experts recommended that the Ukrainian government liquidate two out of three banks recapitalized by the state – Kyiv Bank and Rodovid Bank, and retain the license for Ukrgasbank, the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia.Ukraine (Mirror Weekly) newspaper reported on February 19, referring to its own sources. |
Political crisis could undermine payments capacity, says BYT MP
KIEV, Feb. 19 – A possible political crisis in Ukraine could undermine the paying capacity of the country in 2010, said BYT MP Yuriy Poluneye.
"Of course, political risks and the absence of systemic power in Ukraine at present are one of the very serious factors that will undermine the paying capacity of the country in future," he said at a press conference in Kiev on Thursday.

NBU experts decry postponement of administrative price increases
