Ukraine's third-largest refinery to resume operation in October

KIEV, Aug. 22 - Odessa oil refinery, Ukraine’s third largest oil refinery by capacity, will resume operation in October and will run at full capacity by the year-end, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytskiy said Wednesday.

Zaporizhia asks president to help settle ferroalloy plant problems

KIEV, Aug. 21 – Zaporizhia regional administration head Oleksandr Peklushenko has asked the president and prime minister to help in settling the issue of the transfer of the Ferroalloy 2 substation from Zaporizhiaoblenergo to Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Works, which will allow the company to switch from the second to the first electricity consumption class and reduce expenses on electricity.

NBU predicts inflation to total 10% this year, 7-8% next year

KIEV, Aug. 19 - The National Bank of Ukraine expects inflation in 2012 to slow to 7-8%, whereas in 2011 a 10% rise in prices is expected, First Deputy NBU Governor Yuriy Kolobov said at a briefing on Friday.
