Electricity regulator to raise EnergoAtom supply rates in February

KIEV, Jan. 20 – The National Electricity Regulatory Commission is to raise state-run nuclear power generating company EnergoAtom's electricity supply rates by 13.1% to 17.91 kopeks per kWh from 15.83 kopeks per kWh.


Prosecutor accuses ex-transport minister in bus station demolition

KIEV, Jan. 21 – Former Transport Minister Viktor Bondar is accused of aiding the deliberate demolition of the unfinished Teremky bus station and thereby causing losses to the state worth over UAH 5.5 million, the main department for defense policy and the activities of law enforcement agencies at Ukraine's presidential administration has reported.


Economic court cancels Rafaello trademark rights protection

Interest rates fell 5% in 2007, says State Mortgage Institution

KIEV, Jan. 23 - Interest rates on the State Mortgage Institution's mortgage credits in hryvnias in 2007 fell by almost 5%, from 16.05% to 11.3%, while the interest rates of the commercial banks fell by 3.7%, from 17.75% to 14.05%, according to the State Mortgage Institution.


Refineries ordered to study reverse use of Odessa-Brody pipeline

KIEV, Jan. 23 - Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan has ordered Ukraine's oil transportation monopolist UkrTransNafta to study the proposals of Halychyna (Drohobych oil refinery in Lviv region) and Naftokhimik Prykarpattia (Nadvirna oil refinery in Ivano-Frankivsk region) to use the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline in reverse regime to diversify the sources of oil supplies to Ukraine and provide regular supplies to refineries, the fuel and energy ministry reported.
