Journal Staff Report

KIEV, Feb. 23 – The cost of a project to construct synthesis gas facilities and to switch public joint-stock company Odessa Port-Side Plant to consuming this gas has been assessed at $1.5 billion, acting Director General of subsidiary of national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrayiny - Vuhlesyntezgaz Ukrayiny - Andriy Suprun has said.

"If we speak about the Odessa Port-Side Plant project, it would require around $1.5 billion," he said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

He said that while it was previously planned to realize projects on switching public joint-stock company Stirol Concern (Horlivka, Donetsk region) and private joint-stock company Severodonetsk Azot (Luhansk region) to the consumption of synthetic gas using China Development Bank credit funds, the plans were shelved due to the current instability of eastern Ukraine.
