Rada committee chief calls for alcohol and cigarette excise tax hikes

KIEV, July 3 - Vitaliy Khomutynnik, a pro-government (Regions) MP who heads the parliamentary committee for tax and customs has called for the excise duties on all types of alcohol and cigarettes to be increased.

Energy and coal ministry increases gasoline and diesel excise duties

KIEV, July 3 – The Energy and Coal Industry Ministry has revised upwards the excise duty on gasoline and diesel fuel, and in particular, the excise rate of gasoline was raised by EUR 32.15 per ton, to EUR 283.87 per ton.


Fitch affirms Ukraine Mortgage Loan Finance class B ratings

KIEV, July 2 – Fitch Ratings has affirmed the rating of the class B notes of Ukraine Mortgage Loan Finance No.1 plc., the rating agency said.

The rating of the Class B notes was affirmed at 'Bsf' with the outlook revised to stable from positive.


Cabinet tweaking hryvnia exchange rates for foreign state loans

KIEV, July 2 – The Cabinet of Ministers, as of the beginning of the year, is recalculating possible state loans in 2012 with a hryvnia to U.S. dollar exchange rate of UAH 8.10 per $1.


City of Kiev places $300 million of 5yr eurobonds at 9.375%

KIEV, June 30 - Kiev has placed $300 million in five-year eurobonds at 9.375%, a source at the city's administration told Interfax-Ukraine.

Investors from Russia, the United States and Britain bought most of the bonds.


Government approves list of 123 projects using funds obtained from AAUs

New grain export duties could lower prices by 30%, experts say

KIEV, July 1 – Prices of newly harvested grain in Ukraine could fall by at least 30% due to the introduction of exports duties on grain and the cancellation of VAT refunding to grain traders from July 1, 2011, according to experts.
