Ukraine receives right to supply poultry and eggs to European Union

KIEV, Dec. 5 – Ukraine has received the right to supply eggs, egg products, birds and poultry to the European Union, the State Veterinary and Biosecurity Service said.

The state service reported that Ukraine was put on the list of poultry product importers to the EU.

NBU revises balance of payments forecast to unspecified deficit

KIEV, Dec. 2 – The National Bank of Ukraine has forecast a deficit of the balance of payments in 2011, whereas its previous forecast was a surplus.

"Already today we see that we'll have a deficit by the end of the year," said NBU Governor Serhiy Arbuzov. "However, this is not frightening as we see trends, the way the situation with the current account is changing and what financial account growth we've got."


Ukraine businessmen ID taxes and corruption as biggest problems

KIEV, Dec. 2 – Ukrainian businessmen think taxation policy and corruption in Ukraine are their biggest problems, and that the situation in this sphere has worsened this year, according to a report on competitiveness of Ukraine's regions in 2011 presented by the Foundation for Effective Governance in Kiev.

According to the survey, the importance of the role of the country's tax policy in business grew from 14% to 16% in 2011, and corruption from 10% to 15%.


Ekotechnik Praha to build Dnipropetrovk’s 1st solar plant next year

Government introduces new Chernobyl Exclusion Zone tourist rules

KIEV, Dec. 2 – New rules for traveling to the exclusion zone around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant were introduced on December 2.

Head of the Ukrainian State Agency for Management of the Exclusion Zone Volodymyr Kholosha earlier said that tourists would not be allowed to visit the zone.


Zorya-Mashproekt to supply equipment to China Petroleum & Chemical

Ferrexpo plc board allocates $212 million to modernize Poltava Mining

KIEV, Dec. 2 - The board of directors of Ferrexpo plc has approved allocation of $212 million to modernize capacity at Poltava Mining to complete the switch to production of pellets with 65% Fe content, the company said in a statement.
