KIEV, Dec. 5 - The Ukrainian government on Wednesday created a special commission to investigate a recent $1 billion liquefied natural gas terminal agreement with Gas Natural Fenosa of Spain, a senior official said.
The Spanish company denied involvement in the project hours after the agreement had been signed on November 26 by Ukrainian officials and by a Spanish man who had no authority to do so.
“Today at a Cabinet meeting the commission was created to focus on officials who had signed the scandalous agreement on behalf of the Ukrainian party,” Mykhaylo Brodskiy, the head of the State Committee for Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship, wrote on his Facebook page.
