ExxonMobil/Shell/Petrom expected to win Black Sea oil and gas tender

KIEV, Aug. 9 – Experts predict that a consortium of ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Ukraine B.V., British-Dutch Shell, Petrom (Romania, a subsidiary of Austria's OMV) and state-owned Nadra Ukrayiny will win a tender to sign a production sharing agreement for the Skifske oil and gas field on the Black Sea shelf.


Qatari memorandum promises supply of liquefied natural gas to Ukraine

Ban on land sales to be lifted by new law on January 1, 2012

KIEV, Aug. 8 – A law which revises state land market regulations and lifts a ban on land sales was published in the Holos Ukrayiny newspaper on Saturday.

The document takes effect from January 1, 2012, apart from several clauses.


Agreement with Israel boosts number of weekly flights and carriers

KIEV, Aug. 9 – A new agreement on air communications between Israel and Ukraine foresees an increase in the number of flights between the countries from 28 to 42 per week and the number of regular carriers from two to three from each country, Israeli Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov said.

NBU cuts key rate for 3rd time since June

KIEV, Aug. 9 – The National Bank of Ukraine on Monday cut its key interest rate for the third time since June, citing lower-than-expected inflation and a greater influx of hard currency into the country.


Ukraine’s monetary base rose 1.9% in July, according to NBU

KIEV, Aug. 6 – Ukraine's monetary base in July expanded by 1.9%, to UAH 223.8 billion, while its monetary stock grew by 3.4%, to UAH 551.7 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine reported on its official Web site.
