EBA appeals to Parliament Speaker on proposed food safety law

KIEV, Oct. 10 – The European Business Association has appealed to Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn regarding the revision of a draft law on safety and the quality of foodstuffs (No. 8493), saying it is not in line with the requirements of European Union law.


Latest inflation numbers mean good news on budget, says NBU advisor

KIEV, Oct. 10 – The inflation figure of 0.1% registered by the State Statistics Service in September is a new historic record that increases the likelihood of the fulfillment of the inflation target of the national budget for this year (8.9%) to 75%, according to Valeriy Lytvytsky, the head of a group of advisors to the governor of the National Bank of Ukraine.


Russian government approves regulation of Ukrainian steel pipe

Ukraine and Azerbaijan soon to sign economic and cultural agreement

KIEV, Oct. 8 – Ukraine and Azerbaijan are planning soon to sign an economic and cultural strategic cooperation plan for 2011-2015, Azerbaikani Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yaqub Eyyubov said at a briefing after a meeting of the Ukrainian-Azeri intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation in Kiev on Thursday.


Core inflation reaches 1.5% in September, from 0.6% in August

KIEV, Oct. 8 – Core inflation in Ukraine in September accelerated to 1.5% compared to 0.6% in August, the State Statistics Committee reported.

Since the beginning of this year, core inflation has reached 5.5%, again lagging behind consumer inflation, which reached 7.4% in the first nine months of 2010 after it grew by 2.9% in September 2010.


Ukraine and Azerbaijan agree on increase of Caspian oil to Ukraine

KIEV, Oct. 7 – Ukraine is planning to agree with Azerbaijan on an increase in supplies of light Caspian oil to Ukrainian oil refineries, First Deputy Prime Minister Andriy Kliuyev said at a briefing on Thursday after a regular meeting of the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.


Industrial producer price growth slows to 0.1% in September

KIEV, Oct. 7 – The growth of industrial producers' prices in Ukraine in September slowed to 0.1% after rising by 0.9% in August 2010, the State Statistics Committee said on Thursday.


Sberbank ready to lend $1 billion for Khmelnytsky, EnergoAtom says
