Ukraine-EU Association Committee to plan for free-trade area
KIEV, April 11 – The first meeting of the section of the Ukraine-EU Association Committee which deals with trade will take place in Kiev on Tuesday and Wednesday, the committee will put into operation the institutional mechanism of a free trade area, the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry reported on Monday. |
USDA raises Ukraine 2012-2013 grain and maize export forecasts
KIEV, April 10 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture has raised its estimate of grain and maize exports from Ukraine in the current marketing year (July 2012 through June 2013) compared to its forecast given in March 2013, by 500,000 tons per each type of grain crop. |
ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih pays UAH3.4 billion under 2012 agreement
KIEV, April 11 – ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region) announced it has paid UAH 3.4 billion to fulfill obligations under a 2012 collective agreement.
According to the announcement, the mill has fulfilled its obligations under the agreement, such as financing of labor protection measures, and improving the social and living conditions of employees, which were over-fulfilled. |
Government hoping for resumption of cheese exports to Russia in May
KIEV, April 11 – The Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry hopes to resume exports of Ukrainian hard cheese to Russia in the middle of May, Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk said during a briefing on Wednesday.
"We've sent [the relevant documents], and we're waiting for a response and a decision. Today Rospotrebnadzor experts are working in Pyriatyn, and then they will go to Mena. So, we hope that the issues will be settled in April or in the middle of May, especially considering the fact that the Russian side is waiting for our products," the minister said. |
Drug registration procedures causing difficulties, says AmCham
KIEV, April 10 – Ukrainian medical establishments are facing difficulties in purchasing national and foreign drugs because of the imperfection of the registration procedure of wholesale release prices for medicine in Ukraine, the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine reported. |
