KIEV, April 11 – Ukrainian businesses had $14.5 billion in assets stashed in banks in Cyprus before a “haircut” on their uninsured deposits, Evagoras Vrionides, Cyprus’s ambassador to Ukraine, said.
The figure comes within the range of earlier estimates of the assets kept by Ukrainians in Cyprus.
Oleksandr Savchenko, a former deputy governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, has earlier estimated the assets owned by the Ukrainians in Cyprus at $12 billion.
