NBU policy moves will boost Ukraine economy, says bank advisor
KIEV, June 14 – The latest steps of the National Bank of Ukraine to cut the discount rate, refinancing rates and deposit certificates rate not only give a signal to the market to cut the cost of borrowing, but also promote crediting and ensure the economy will recover thanks to offering an incentive to domestic consumption, according to Valeriy Lytvytsky, the head of the group of advisors to the NBU governor. |
Ukraine to start shipping military hardware to Iraq this autumn
KIEV, June 14 – Ukraine is to begin this autumn the shipment of first batches of military hardware to Iraq under a large-scale contract worth over $550 million struck in 2009.
The delivery of the first An-32 (P) aircraft for Iraq is scheduled tentatively for September, Dmitriy Kiva, the head of state-run Antonov Concern told Interfax-Ukraine. |
Ukrainian air conditioner market getting ready for big chill
KIEV, June 11 – The Ukrainian air conditioner market, taking into account household and semi-industrial split systems, in 2009 could fall by some 60% year-over-year, to 160,000 units, the director of Kyiv-based Leacond Company, the official sales partner of Japan's producer of Daikin airconditioning equipment, Volodymyr Stepur has said. |
EnergoAtom electricity generation down 14.3% through May 31
KIEV, June 11 - EnergoAtom cut electricity generation in January to May by 14.3% or by 5.829 billion kWh year-on-year, to 34.903 billion kWh, EnergoAtom announced.
In the five months, the electricity generation target was over-fulfilled by 1.7%. |
