KIEV, June 14 – Ukraine will seek financing from the European Union to build a $1 billion liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal on the Black Sea, Energy and Fuel Minister Yuriy Boyko said.
The LNG terminal would allow Ukraine to receive alternative supplies of Azeri liquefied gas shipped by oil tankers across the Black Sea from an LNG terminal in Georgia.
“We have a program with the EU with a total level of financing at $3 billion,” Boyko said in an interview with Inter television. “This is one of the projects that we will be suggesting.”
