USDA lowers Ukraine’s wheat harvest forecast in 2018 Journal Staff Report
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in July downgraded the forecast of wheat harvest in Ukraine in 2018 by one million tons compared to the June forecast, to 25.5 million tons. According to a report on the website of the U.S. department, the forecast for wheat exports for the 2018/2019 marketing year (MY, July-June) was also reduced by 500,000 tons, to 16.5 million tons. In general, the U.S. department reduced the forecast for grain production in Ukraine by one million tons, to 63.75 million tons, exports by 500,000 tons, to 44.21 million.
