Ukrnafta hires two companies to conduct 3D seismic prospecting

KIEV, Aug. 29 Ukrnafta, Ukraine's largest oil producing company, has hired two companies to conduct 3D seismic prospecting via a plane-table survey at six hydrocarbon deposits in Lviv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava and Kharkiv regions.

Ukraines national budget deficit rises 45% through end of July

KIEV, Aug. 28 The deficit of Ukraines national budget in January-July 2009 came to UAH 15.352 billion, growing by 44.8% or UAH 4.748 billion.

A posting on the Web site of Ukraines Finance Ministry says that the deficit of the budgets general fund in January-July 2009 reached UAH 17.877 billion, which is UAH 3.805 billion up from H1.

US company preparing to launch drug production facility at Boryspil

KIEV, Aug. 30 - U.S. company MaxWell Biocorporation is preparing to launch a drug production facility on the basis of a scientific and industrial cancer and cardiological center under construction in Boryspil in Kiev region, which will be the largest in Eastern Europe, the company told Interfax-Ukraine.

Arcelor Mittal to invest $2 billion to expand Ukrainian operation

KIEV, April 30 - Arcelor Mittal, the worlds largest steel maker, plans to invest $2 billion to upgrade and to expand its Ukrainian steelmaking operation within the next four years, the company reported Thursday.
