KIEV, Jan. 11 – Ukraine’s opposition leader Viktor Yanukovych is a “lesser evil” compared with Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko ahead of the next presidential election this month, the Financial Times wrote in an editorial on Monday.

“So, whom to back in Sunday's first round and next month's runoff? Given the candidates' shortcomings, voters must focus on what is important. The key now is political stability. Only a stable Ukraine can achieve economic reform and recovery.
