KIEV, June 8 – Presidential Envoy on International Energy Issues Bohdan Sokolovsky has expressed fears that Russia's Gazprom could impose fines on Naftogaz Ukrayiny for not buying the full volume of gas this year before the presidential elections in Ukraine.

"Russia's statements heard recently suggest that [Russia] could impose large fines at the end of the year... It would be worse if they speculate for [the fines] in December before presidential elections in Ukraine," he told the press.
