KIEV, April 2 – The average weighted hryvnia exchange rate on the interbank currency market as of April 1 continued strengthening after a 1.2% strengthening in January to March, Valeriy Lytvytsky the head of the group of advisors to the central bank's governor, said.

"The interbank market today laughed at the pessimists. The average weighted hryvnia exchange rate in all transactions with the dollar on April 1, taking into account the results of the currency auction of the NBU, strengthened by 8 kopecks, to UAH 7.89/$1 from UAH 7.97/$1," he told Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.
