KYIV, Sept 12 – Ukraine expects the second tranche of EU macro-financial assistance (MFA) of EUR 5 billion as a loan by the end of September and the last tranche of EUR 3 billion as a grant in October, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.
"We are now literally waiting for EUR 5 billion of macro-financial assistance by the end of this month, this is a loan. And also, the second part of this EUR 8 billion tranche – EUR 3 billion – in October, which will be provided to Ukraine as grant support," the head of the Ukrainian government said at the 17th Yalta European Strategy (YES) annual meeting held by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation at the end of last week in Kyiv.
