KYIV, Oct 6 – Guaranteed preservation of the gas transit through Ukraine in the amount of at least 45 billion cubic meters per year is one of the important points in order not to allow Russia to use weapons against Ukraine or Europe, Head of the Ukrainian Gas Transmission System Operator (GTSOU) Serhiy Makohon has said on Wednesday.

"Ukraine's energy security is an integral part of the Euro-Atlantic region's security. I explained this idea to Ukraine's partners at a meeting of the Alliance's Political Committee on Energy Security," he said on Facebook following a meeting of the NATO Political Committee on Energy Security and bilateral meetings with representatives of the Alliance's member states in Brussels.
